Verdict

CHIEF MORTER is a firm selection. He could well be granted an uncontested lead. Chucky Our Law looks the most dangerous rival while Keep On Chargin is capable of better, and B Thirsty is capable of running well.

Sixth beaten 25l at Colonial Downs five weeks ago in a maiden claimer; drops to a $5k tag from $12.5k; the Kevin Joy operation is running hot currently; very interesting despite defeat last time as ran well at Colonial Downs three runs back.

Has kicked on in his last couple of races; not far behind Super Banker when sixth in a maiden claimer in July; in for a $5k tag so down in class ($10k last time); blinkers fitted for the first time; should not be ruled out.

Produced an encouraging effort (third of eight, beaten just over 4l) in July in a maiden claimer; has shown some recent improvement but yet to get off the mark and losing run stands at nine; significantly reduced claiming tag a concern so there are better alternatives here.

Wasn't beaten that far when fourth (beaten 5l) last month at Timonium in a maiden claimer; now eased in the grades (in for $4.5k); if he can build on his latest effort then ought to be considered.

Came home sixth, beaten 20l, at Horseshoe Indianapolis over 51⁄2f (maiden claimer) last month; few miles on the clock with this his third race; now down in class (in for $4.5k from $12.5k); passed over.

Comfortably beaten into last on his debut at Colonial Downs at 28-1 53 days ago; drops to a $5k tag; he should go close.

Finished just behind Chucky Our Law when fifth four weeks ago at Timonium in a maiden claimer; without a win in six attempts although has finished second and not had much racing; in for the same $5k tag.

Yet to open his account after 14 starts and generally struggled of late; finished out the back in a maiden claimer six weeks ago at Colonial Downs upped to 1m; substantially lower claiming tag a cause for concern so unlikely to trouble the principals.

Was tailed off at Laurel Park on Friday in a maiden claimer; lightly raced with this just his third appearance; claiming value now drops from $12.5k; others more appealing.
